The symposium of the Italian Association for Artificial Intelligence (AIIA) is a traditional two-yearly meeting of researchers working on theory and applications in Artificial Intelligence. The XIII symposium will be hosted by the Department of Computer Science at the University of Pisa.
AI*IA 2014 will be centred on thematic workshops, tutorials, panels, doctoral consortium, demo session, plenary sessions with invited speaker seminars, and a special track on the theme Artificial Intelligence for Society and Economy.
We hope that the 2014 meeting will strengthen awareness that AI is assuming a central role in the competitive strategies of the present scenario of rapid changes. AI can significantly support societal and economic development due to the rapidly emerging demand for innovative technologies in many application areas both in the public and private sectors.
AI*IA Working Groups, scientific and industrial research groups, and individual researchers are invited to submit proposals of workshops at the address
aiia2014@di.unipi.it.
A proposal must include:
Every workshop is encouraged to support the Symposium track
Artificial Intelligence for Society and Economy
through the direct contribution of the workshop organizers or of representatives from the reference research community by offering short talks in the track session about:
or by presenting systems/services demos with industrial relevance.
In this way the workshops will collectively support the cross-fertilization of ideas between researchers and industry representatives as well as between the different AI areas.
Workshop organizers will be notified about the acceptance/rejection of their proposal within 15 (fifteen) days upon reception.
Proposals will be served in a FIFO way until the capacity of the symposium location will be reached.
Workshop organizers will manage on their own the submission, review, and publishing process. However, the key dates and the publication policy must be shared with the symposium organizers.
Informal proceedings of workshops will be made available on the symposium web site.
Extended versions of selected AI*IA 2014 workshop papers will be considered for a special issue of the Intelligenza Artificiale journal.
One free registration waiver for invited speakers is granted for each workshop.
